1. The earth dragon breaks down the fibrin in the blood sitting in your veins
Varicose veins are not a skin flaw. They're a blood problem.
When the valves wear out, blood sits in your lower legs, and blood that sits keeps trying to clot. A protein called fibrin weaves the sticky net that holds a clot together, and your body's own enzyme, plasmin, has to break it down every day.
Your doctor may never have said it, but in varicose veins plasmin has far more fibrin to clear than in people without them, and it gets slower every year.
One problem shows up 7 ways:
- Legs like cement blocks by evening → pooled blood presses on the vein walls all day
- Swelling → pooled blood puffs up your ankles until your shoes pinch by afternoon
- Throbbing → irritated vein walls pulse once you finally sit down
- Night aching → the ache that wakes you and sends you walking the hallway at 2 a.m.
- Bulging, twisted veins → blue and purple ropes pushing up through your skin, thicker every summer
- Itching → it starts under the surface, where scratching can't reach
- Dark patches creeping up from the ankle → leaking tiny veins leave iron in the skin, whatever cream goes on top
In kampo, we call this oketsu, blood that has stopped moving. The enzyme inside the earth dragon, lumbrokinase, breaks that fibrin down, backing up the job plasmin can no longer keep up with.
What goes into a capsule is the purified enzyme, no more a worm than fish oil is a fish.
Vein Restore puts that enzyme to work, helping your body break down the fibrin, so your legs feel lighter and look natural again, from the first steps out of bed to the last ones up the stairs at night.
This isn't some kind of pseudoscience. In 2018, JAMA followed 212,984 people with varicose veins and 212,984 the same age without them for about 7 years. Those with varicose veins were diagnosed with a deep vein clot about 5 times as often.
